Tuesday morning's icy weather closed schools in Anne Arundel and Harford counties, postponing a full slate of athletic events in both jurisdictions as well as some Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland basketball quarterfinals.
In the IAAM A Conference, No. 12 Archbishop Spalding, which was closed Tuesday, will now play at No. 8 Seton Keough on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. Even though John Carroll was closed Tuesday, the Patriots will still play at No. 3 St. Frances at 5:30 p.m. St. Vincent Pallotti will also play at No. 1 McDonogh at 5:30 as scheduled.
All B Conference games will be played Tuesday, with IND at Severn and Mount de Sales at Annapolis Area Christian moved up to 5 p.m.
In the C Conference, two games were postponed. Key School will play at Mount Carmel on Wednesday at 5:45 p.m. and Indian Creek will play at Catholic on Wednesday at 5:30.
The IAAM semifinals remain scheduled for Thursday at the higher seeds, with the championships Sunday at Stevenson University. The C Conference final will begin at 1 p.m. followed by the B Conference at 3 and the A Conference at 5.
Two other girls basketball games involving ranked teams were also postponed. South River will make up its game at No. 12 Old Mill on Thursday at 6:45 p.m. No. 13 C. Milton Wright will play at No. 5 Aberdeen on Monday at 4:30.
