Several of this weekend's high school football games have been moved to earlier in the day to avoid potential hijinks associated with Halloween.
All of Friday's games in Howard County will kick off at 4:30 p.m. rather than 7. Those include Howard at River Hill, Oakland Mills at Mount Hebron, Reservoir at Atholton, Marriotts Ridge at Centennial, Glenelg at Long Reach and Hammond at Wilde Lake.
Dunbar has also moved its game to 5 p.m. rather than 7 at William F. "Sugar" Cain Field in East Baltimore. The Poets face Edmondson in the annual battle for the Ben Eaton Memorial Trophy.
In another move unrelated to Halloween, Archbishop Curley's MIAA B Conference regular-season finale against John Carroll will be played at noon. Saturday rather than 7 p.m. so portable lights won't be needed.
