Danique Parker broke loose on the left side and made a diving kick to score the game-winner with two minutes left in overtime as No. 3 Loyola Blakefield beat No. 4 Calvert Hall, 3-2, in soccer Wednesday.
Dons coach Lee Tschantret complimented the midfield play of Sean Clarke and Shane McWilliams and steady defense throughout.
"We had a little bit more control of the ball," Tschantret said. Loyola "played the same system throughout."
The host Cardinals (2-1-1) led 2-1 at the half before Clarke scored his second goal, a free kick that he hooked into the bottom left corner with 15:52 left in regulation to tie the game for Loyola (3-0).
Calvert Hall had a direct kick with 2:20 left in regulation, but the shot went wide right. Loyola's defense has given up one goal in the past three games.
