High school football by the numbers, Week 4

With the midpoint of the regular season fast approaching, the Baltimore area's top high school football teams are beginning to assert themselves, including 10 that remain undefeated.

Among a host of big individual performances this past weekend were a couple of team accomplishments that haven't happened in more than a decade.

Here are the statistics that stood out in Week 4:

1- Offensive touchdown scored in Long Reach's 14-7 win over Oakland Mills – a 39-yard run by KaDarrian Booker on the Lightning's first drive of the game.

4- Baltimore area's longest active winning streak – by 10 teams, Annapolis, Old Mill, Howard, Long Reach, Loyola Blakefield, Hereford, Bel Air, Havre de Grace, Lewis and Northwestern

5- Key defensive plays – a fumble recovery for a touchdown, an interception, two sacks, one tackle for a loss – by Franklin linebacker Michael Gibson in a 51-0 win over Catonsville

7- Points allowed by Hereford this fall – the fewest of any Baltimore-area team

8- Turnovers by Oakland Mills in the loss to Long Reach

11- Touchdown passes thrown in two weeks by Dulaney quarterback Ty Woodard, who threw for five in Friday's 40-14 win over Kenwood

25.7- Yards averaged per rush for Howard running back Devin Dawkins on six carries, with three touchdowns, in a 47-0 win over Mount Hebron

28- Consecutive Howard County wins by Howard

15:07- Time of possession for Archbishop Spalding in its 49-0 win over Avalon

83- Yard fumble recovery run for a touchdown by Towson's Tyrell Cook to make the difference in a 17-14 win over Lansdowne

100- Percent completion rate by Hereford quarterback Jon Marchinek, who was 5-for-5 for 120 yards and two touchdowns in a 35-0 win over Randallstown

155- Yards receiving by John Carroll's Avery Jones on five catches with one touchdown in a 36-33 win over St. Paul's

205- Points scored by Annapolis this fall – the most of any Baltimore-area team

217- Yards rushing by Old Mill's Sirus Gay on 29 carries with four touchdowns in a 42-21 win over Arundel

231- Yards rushing by North Harford's Cole Dickerson on 23 carries with four touchdowns in a 44-36 win over Winters Mill

303- Yards passing by Dunbar quarterback Jared Lewis, who was 12-for-15 passing and threw for three touchdowns in a 52-12 win over Poly.

356- Yards passing by St. Paul's Kevin Madden, who threw for three touchdowns (and ran for two) in a 36-33 loss to John Carroll

2002- The last time Annapolis started the season 4-0 before Friday

2004- The last time Long Reach started the season 4-0 before Friday

2009- The last time Parkville defeated Perry Hall before Saturday
