Girls soccer outlook: Carroll County

Defending Carroll County champion: Century

The Carroll County girls soccer picture may be the cloudiest of any in the Baltimore area.

Defending champion Century, which went 6-0-1 in league play last year, may have enough pieces to make it two straight. Jaci Buteua, Alyssa Malanik and Hannah Warther are experienced, talent and versatile -- giving coach Sara Figuly plenty of flexibility within their lineup.

Manchester Valley won their second straight Class 1A state crown, but have holes to fill with 11 players lost to graduation. One huge plus is the return of forward Jamie Rickabaugh, who led the county with 18 goals last season.

Liberty has some quality returnees, led by forward Jenny Litz. At Westminster, the Owls return goalie Alayna Morris and midfielder Madison Abster, but graduated a good chunk of their offense.

Check back over the next couple days for breakdowns on girls soccer in Harford County, Howard County and the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland.
