Only two of this week's state football semifinals were close, with Dunbar pulling out a last-second win over Kent Island and Old Mill getting past Howard's mighty defense with the only touchdown of their game.

Still, there were a lot of other highlights from the weekend as well as from Thursday's Turkey Bowl.

Four Baltimore area teams advance to next weekend's state semifinals -- Old Mill, Franklin, Dunbar and Douglass -- so there will be one more week of By The Numbers before we wrap it up for 2014.
