Only two of this week's state football semifinals were close, with Dunbar pulling out a last-second win over Kent Island and Old Mill getting past Howard's mighty defense with the only touchdown of their game.
Still, there were a lot of other highlights from the weekend as well as from Thursday's Turkey Bowl.
Four Baltimore area teams advance to next weekend's state semifinals -- Old Mill, Franklin, Dunbar and Douglass -- so there will be one more week of By The Numbers before we wrap it up for 2014.
Here are the numbers that stood out from the state semifinals and from the first 13 weeks of the season:
Time left on the clock when Dunbar quarterback Zionnez Spencer avoided a sack and hit Ivan Lomax for the game-winning touchdown to beat Kent Island, 24-21
Points surrendered by Douglass' defense in the playoffs as opponents managed only a kickoff return for a touchdown and a safety against the Ducks in the last three games
Interceptions returned for touchdowns in the past two weeks by Franklin's Steven Smothers, who had an 87-yard return in the region final and a 77-yard return in Friday's 30-0 state semifinal win over Thomas Stone
