Catonsville girls soccer coach James Fitzpatrick, who led the Comets to the Class 4A state title game this season, has decided to step down after 12 seasons.
Fitzpatrick finished his career with a 117-58-1 record, leading the Comets to a 17-2 mark that included titles in Baltimore County and the Class 4A North region.
Catonsville won 16 straight games before falling to Walt Whitman, 2-0, in the state championship game.
