The UMBC men's soccer team continues to tap into resources close to home with Archbishop Curley standout junior forward Tre Pulliam the latest hometown product to make an oral commitment to the Retrievers.
A three-year starter at Curley, Pulliam finished with 17 goals and 13 assists to earn All-Metro first-team honors in the fall. Going into his senior year, he has 45 career goals and 15 assists.
After making their College Cup appearance, falling to eventual NCAA champion Virginia in the semifinals, the Retrievers have successfully recruited a number of local standouts. Reservoir seniors Kyle Saunderson and David Harris committed to the program, along with Perry Hall junior Colin Weyant. Like Pulliam, all three players earned All-Metro honors this past season.
A big part of the Retrievers' successful 2014 season was strong play from former Curley standout defender Oumar Ballo, who became UMBC's first two-time All-American and was a second-round pick by the Houston Dynamo in last month's Major League Soccer SuperDraft.
