Archbishop Curley has named Drew Haugh its new wrestling coach and Phil Hahn its basketball coach, the school announced Friday.
Haugh brings over 30 years of wrestling experience to the school. He last served as the coach at Boys' Latin, spending 17 years at his alma mater before stepping down after the 2014-15 season. His Lakers squads amassed 192 wins during his tenure. He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees at Salisbury University.
Hahn, a 2007 graduate of Towson University who has a master's degree in secondary education from UMBC, most recently served as an assistant varsity basketball coach at Perry Hall. He helped lead the Gators to the Class 4A region title game this past season. He was previously an assistant coach at City from 2006-11 and part of two state title teams.
"We are excited to have Drew Haugh and Phil Hahn join our athletic staff and feel they possess the skills to elevate their respective programs to the next level," said Matt Hatton, the school's athletic director.
The Friars compete in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) A Conference in wrestling and B Conference in basketball.
