Did Aquille Carr announce his commitment to Seton Hall?

Aquille Carr tweets his commitment to Seton Hall

Aquille Carr is scheduled to have a news conference Thursday at Patterson to announce where he's committing to play basketball, but the All-Metro Player of the Year seemed to make his intentions clear on Twitter Friday afternoon.

Thursday night he tweeted: ā€œIm thinking about commiting to a school 2 marooā€ and then he followed that with two more tweets Friday. The first stated simply: ā€œSeton hallā€ and a second one saying ā€œThanks to everybody that push me to make it to were im at #seton hallā€ followed 13 minutes later.

He also added a line to his Twitter bio saying "FUTURE SETON HALL PIRATE!"

Reached by phone after those tweets came out, Patterson coach Harry Martin said his standout junior point guard hasn’t made a final decision.

ā€œAquille is still doing research on schools to find the one that is best for him academically and basketball-wise," Martin said. "He’s still considering a number of schools and will have a decision made next week."

Martin said Carr is also considering Maryland, Baylor, Memphis, Towson and South Florida.

The announcement is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Patterson gym.

The 5-foot-7 Carr is averaging 22 points and 5.2 assists per game this season for the No. 1 Clippers, who are traveling to Milwaukee for Saturday’s Under Armour Brandon Jennings Invitational.
