Boys basketball Game of the Week: No. 7 St. Frances (21-9) at No. 2 Calvert Hall (24-4)

When: Sunday, 3:30 p.m. KEY PLAYERS St. Frances: Dwayne Morgan, Sr., G/F; Khalil Richards, So. G; Daquan Bracey, So. G. Calvert Hall: Drew Edwards, Jr, G; Evan Phoenix, Jr., F; Nico Clareth, Jr., G. KEYS TO VICTORY Playoff seedings in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association and Baltimore Catholic League will be on the line on the regular season's final day. St. Frances (13-4 in the MIAA, 11-4 in the BCL) and Calvert Hall (12-4, 9-3) are right behind frontrunner Mount St. Joseph (25-4 overall, 13-3, 11-3) in both leagues. In the first meeting at St. Frances on Jan. 12, the host Panthers rallied for a 74-69 win with Richards and Bracey combining to score 39 points. The Cardinals jumped out to a double-digit lead in the first half largely behind hot perimeter shooting, but Calvert Hall coach John Bauersfeld would like to see a bigger inside presence offensively with more balance in this game. They also must handle pressure in the closing minutes better at home. A big plus for the Panthers is having a healthy Morgan, who missed all but two minutes in the first game with the flu. The Panthers need to start better and will rely on their balanced attack and ability to get second and third chances at the basket. Both teams can go deep into their benches. -- Glenn Graham
