The Bulls made Roemer a happy man by repeating as the Class 2A state champion. Hereford (52 points) beat Catoctin by 40 in a strong performance to win the title while running on its own course.
That came after the Bulls won the Class 2A North region title and just missed finishing first in the Baltimore County meet, losing to Dulaney by a point.
Roemer worked hard to get his team ready for the bigger races, which proved important at the right time.
Roemer said at the state meet that he didn't worry about all of the details that day. He was confident his Bulls were ready to roll.
"If you get them trained properly, everything will come together," Roemer said.
And so it did.
