Anne Arundel Prep Roundup, Jan. 17: Mikiyah Mallett’s 23 points leads Old Mill girls basketball to win over North County

Mikiyah Mallett delivered 23 points, 10 rebounds and six assists and Amani Watts provided 16 points and 14 rebounds as the Old Mill girls basketball team stayed unbeaten in county play with the 76-54 win over the North County.
Saniya Hymes added 12 points and eight rebounds and Deja Atkinson produced eight points and five assists for Old Mill (12-1).
Chesapeake 60, Northeast 45: Ashley Chew collected a game-high 24 points, seven rebounds, three steals and three assists and Michaela Dennis added 10 points and 12 rebounds as the Cougars defeated the rival Eagles.
Morgan Gray chipped in with eight points, eight rebounds and three blocks, Juliana Brady tallied eight points and five rebounds and Kylie Capes grabbed nine rebounds for Chesapeake (6-6).
Orion Young netted a game-high 28 points, while Joe Harrington and Jack Leverty each tallied 12 points for Severna Park (8-5).
Meade 60, Glen Burnie 52: TJ Speight managed 18 points and six assists and Nasir Brockington produced 13 points and five assists as the Mustangs won on the road for the first time this season by defeating the Gophers.
Devin Barksdale added 10 points and 11 rebounds for Meade (5-8).
St. John’s C. P. 79, Severn 56: Adam Angwafo registered 14 points, while Ian Munroe and Baylin Groff provided 11 points apiece, but the Admirals (5-11) fell to the Vikings.
Northeast 46, Chesapeake 36: Jaylin Albury scored 14 points and Trent McNeill contributed 10 points as the Eagles (10-3) beat the rival Cougars.
Severn Boys: Andrew Campbell won two individual the 200 and 500 freestyle events and Nick Subong was first in the 200 individual medley and the 100 freestyle as the Admirals topped Archbishop Curley, 66-28, and also defeated Key by the same score.
Jack Keith won the 100 breast stroke, Will Oliver won the 100 butterfly against Key and David Fitzgerald won the 100 backstroke against Key.
Campbell joined Jack Keith, Oliver and Subong to win the 200 Medley relay, as well as combining with Oliver, Subong and Ryan McNemar to touch first in the 400 Freestyle Relay. The 200 Freestyle Relay team of Will Klepper, Ryan Wahba, Jordan Bruce and Fitzgerald was also victorious for Severn.
