Less than two months ago, Maryland offensive lineman Brendan Moore was one of 57 players named to the Rimington Trophy Spring Watch List after an impressive spring.

Evidently, the Rimington Trophy committee still thinks highly of Moore in mid-summer.

Moore was named to the Rimington Trophy Fall Watch List on Wednesday. The Rimington Trophy is given annually to the nation's best center.

During spring practice, Maryland coach DJ Durkin -- who was otherwise hesitant to heap praise on individual players -- singled out Moore's performance in a seemingly uncertain offensive line situation.

"He's really been a guy that's stood out so far this spring," Durkin said in late March. "He competes every day. He's consistent with what he does. He's our style of guy, meaning he's a blue collar-type player, so he's done a really good job."

Moore, a redshirt sophomore, appeared in seven games last season and started the season finale at left guard against Rutgers. In the wild 46-41 victory, the Terps rushed for 401 yards.

Former Alabama offensive lineman Ryan Kelly, who was the 18th overall pick in the NFL draft, was last year's Rimington Trophy winner.
