Former Virginia coach Mike London announced he's joining the coaching staff at Maryland on Twitter on Wednesday afternoon.

SI.com first reported London's addition as the Terps' defensive line coach and associate head coach late Tuesday night.

London is the third addition coach DJ Durkin has made to his staff on the defensive side of the ball. Former Alabama assistant Aazaar Abdul-Rahim was added as defensive backs coach earlier this week, and former Syracuse coach Scott Shafer is set to be named the team's defensive coordinator. Neither Abdul-Rahim nor Shafer's hiring has been announced yet, but Abdul-Rahim updated his Twitter bio to read "University of Maryland Asst Football Coach" and changed his header photo to Maryland's logo.

London resigned from Virginia on Nov. 29 after finishing the season 4-8. In six seasons, he was 27-46. London has the reputation as a strong recruiter in the Washington area and in Virginia.
