Will Likely has become one of Maryland's most decorated players over the past two seasons, and the recognitions continue to pour in before the cornerback begins his senior season in College Park.
Likely was named to the Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List on Friday. The Nagurski Trophy is presented annually to the college football's defensive player of the year by the Charlotte Touchdown Club and the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA).
Likely was named to the Bednarik Award Watch List earlier this week.
Likely has been an All-Big Ten performer at corner the past two seasons, picking off six passes -- and returning two for touchdowns -- as a sophomore in 2014 and breaking up 11 passes last fall. In January, the Belle Glade, Fla., native announced he was returning for his senior season.
Temple linebacker Tyler Matakevich won the Nagurski Trophy last season.
