COLLEGE PARK — One week after locking down three standout local recruits, Maryland got another commitment from a top target when McDonogh offensive lineman Jordan McNair announced his pledge to the Terps on Twitter on Saturday afternoon.
McNair is rated as a four-star recruit in the 247sports.com composite rankings. He's the No. 6 player in Maryland, No. 32 offensive tackle nationally and No. 239 player in the country, according to the composite rankings. He drew interest from a number of prominent programs, including Ohio State, Auburn, Penn State and Rutgers. (Here's his Hudl highlight tape.)
McNair is the sixth member of Maryland's Class of 2017 and the third offensive player in the class after Lake Braddock (Va.) tight end Andrew Park and St. John's (D.C.) quarterback Kasim Hill.
All six of Maryland's commitments hail from either Maryland or Virginia. Last weekend, the Terps got oral pledges from Hill, IMG Academy (Fla.) four-star defensive tackle Cam Spence and Good Counsel three-star linebacker Ayinde Eley.
