The Maryland football team picked up its second pledge in the Class of 2017 when Quince Orchard's Fofie Bazzie announced his oral commitment on Twitter on Sunday afternoon.
Bazzie's announcement comes exactly a month after tight end Andrew Park from Lake Braddock in Virginia became the first commitment in next year's recruiting class.
Bazzie originally was offered by Maryland on March 2, and he's the first in-state recruit in the class. He is unranked by the four major recruiting services, and 247sports.com and Rivals.com list him as a cornerback while Scout.com and ESPN list him as a wide receiver. Here's his junior-season highlight tape, via Hudl.
He's listed at about 6 feet, 180 pounds by all four services, giving him the size to play at either position at the next level.
According to 247sports.com, Bazzie committed to Maryland over offers from Iowa State, Temple, Marshall, Monmouth and Old Dominion.
Quince Orchard, located in Gaithersburg, is the same high school that produced Maryland defensive tackle Adam McLean.
