Maryland's first road game under coach DJ Durkin at Florida International will kick off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9, Conference USA announced Wednesday.
The game will also be televised on CBS Sports Network.
The Terps will play under the lights on the road for the first time since a 32-21 win at Connecticut on Sept. 14, 2013.
Maryland's matchup with FIU was originally scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 10, but it was moved up a day to Friday night. The Terps return to Florida a week later for a matchup at Central Florida.
Maryland and FIU have met four times and the Terps have won all four matchups. Most recently, Maryland beat FIU, 43-10, in the 2013 season opener.
The kickoff times have been announced for four of Maryland's 12 games this fall. In the Big Ten Conference opener on Oct. 1, the Terps will host Purdue at 3:30 p.m. before traveling to Penn State for a noon kick a week later. On Oct. 22, the Terps host Michigan State for a night game at Maryland Stadium.
Television networks have been announced for two of Maryland's games -- the Michigan State game will be on Big Ten Network -- so far.
This fall will be the first season since 2011 that Maryland will play multiple night games. That season -- former coach Randy Edsall's first in College Park -- the Terps played Miami, Clemson and Notre Dame under the lights.
