Tayler Hishon led McDaniel on Friday with a 2-for-3 day at the plate, including leading off the second inning with a home run to left field. Katie Wenger paced Franklin & Marshall with two hits, including the go-ahead single in the sixth inning.

Hishon and Olivia Kipe (Manchester Valley) led off the seventh inning with back-to-back ground ball singles to bring the potentially winning run to the plate. A fly ball out allowed Hishon to take third but Franklin & Marshall doubled off Kipe attempting to take second when the ball went all the way through to third.

A throwing error allowed Hishon to score and make it a one-run game, but Izzy Schaefer got her second strikeout of the day to strand the tying run at first base and give the Diplomats their first tournament win in their first try.

Kipe joined Hishon with two hits. Fiona Johnson fanned four and did not walk any in the complete-game effort in the circle.
