The weekend's Division I women's lacrosse conference championships featured two surprises — No. 10 Navy's win over No. 8 Loyola Maryland for the Patriot League championship and Penn State's win over No. 6 Northwestern in the Big Ten semifinals.
Those results created a lot of change in Monday's Inside Lacrosse media poll, although No. 1 Stony Brook and No. 2 Maryland held their positions.
Navy jumped from No. 10 to No. 7 with the win over Loyola. The Greyhounds dropped from No. 8 to No. 9.
Towson, which fell in the Colonial Athletic Association final to No. 5 James Madison, dropped one spot to No. 8.
Boston College and North Carolina flipped positions with the Eagles moving up to No. 3 even though the No. 4 Tar Heels defeated them in the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament final a week ago and neither played in the past week.
Big East champion Florida moved up three spots to No. 6 and Pac-12 champion Stanford jumped up one to No. 10.
Johns Hopkins, which fell to Maryland in the Big Ten semifinals, continues to receive votes.
This will be the final poll until after the NCAA tournament Memorial Day weekend. Every team mentioned qualified for the tournament with the defending national champion Terps seeded No. 1.
