The upset parade has settled down in Division I women's lacrosse with the top 14 teams holding on to their spots in this weeks' Inside Lacrosse media poll. The final six shuffled.
No. 1 Stony Brook and No. 2 Boston College, the only two undefeated teams remaining, have a strong hold on the top spots with No. 3 Maryland close behind.
The Terps topped then-No. 15 Penn State, 13-8, last week to remain unbeaten in the Big Ten and set up a showdown with No. 7 Northwestern for the conference regular-season championship Thursday night at Maryland's Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex. Both are 5-0 in the conference.
No. 6 Towson also faces a big regular-season finale when the Tigers host No. 4 James Madison on Saturday for the Colonial Athletic Association championship. Both are 5-0 in the CAA. In the meantime, the Tigers will take on local rival Johns Hopkins at Homewood Field on Wednesday.
No. 8 Loyola Maryland has already secured at least a share of the Patriot League championship and will host the tournament May 4 and 6 at Ridley Athletic Complex. The Greyhounds host their final conference game Saturday against Holy Cross. First, they will head to Georgetown on Wednesday to try to win their fifth straight game.
No. 11 Navy hosts Patriot League foe Boston University in its regular-season final Saturday. The Midshipmen, who won last year's conference tournament, are in second place behind Loyola, the only conference team they've lost to this season.
