Lacrosse roundup (Feb. 27): Boston College draws away to hand Navy women 1st loss

Second-ranked Boston College handed the visiting Navy women's lacrosse team its first loss, 20-14, Tuesday.

No. 8 Navy (3-1) did not win the draw control battle for the first time this season as Boston College (6-0) came away with 22 of 35 draws. All-American Sam Apuzzo led Boston College with a school record nine goals and an assist.

Jenna Collins (River Hill) led the Mids with five goals and an assist. She was joined by her sister Julia, who had three goals. Andie O'Sullivan added two goals and an assist, while Meg O'Donnell (North Harford), Molly O'Sullivan, Kayla Harris (Broadneck) and Caitlin Blanche (South River) all scored.

Nation men

No. 7 Villanova 12, Drexel 9: The host Wildcats (4-0) went on a 5-0 run in the fourth quarter to beat the Dragons (0-3). Keegan Khan had a hat trick for Villanova.

No. 11 Yale 13, Massachusetts 10: The visiting Bulldogs (2-1) weathered a 6-2 rally in the fourth quarter by the Minutemen (1-3).

Nation women

No. 16 Princeton 18, Lehigh 12: Kyla Sears scored four goals to lead the visiting Tigers (2-1) past the Mountain Hawks (2-2).
