Steele Stanwick (Loyola) came up big again with three goals and four assists to lead nine Cavaliers in scoring as top-ranked Virginia beat host No. 4 North Carolina, 15-10, on Saturday.
With the win, the Cavaliers (10-1, 2-0) clinched at least the second seed in the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament, which they'll host April 20 and 22. Friday's home game against No. 10 Duke will determine the league tournament's No. 1 seed.
Stanwick has 243 career points, moving past Kevin Pehlke (239) and Michael Watson (240) into third place all time at Virginia.
No. 2 Cornell 14, Harvard 10: Roy Lang had a hat trick and the host Big Red (8-1, 4-0 Ivy League) led 6-1 at the half. The Crimson fell to 5-5, 2-1.
No. 6 Notre Dame 9, Providence 1: Tough defense limited the Friars (1-9, 0-4 Big East) to one goal in the first half, and Westy Hopkins scored three for the host Fighting Irish (8-1, 3-0). Notre Dame went on a 6-0 run to close out the scoring.
No. 18 Colgate 11, No. 9 Lehigh 10, OT: Jeff Ledwick (three goals) scored the game-tying goal with 1:43 left in regulation and the game-winner with 2:07 left in overtime as the host Red Raiders (9-2, 3-1 Patriot League) upset the Mountain Hawks (10-2, 3-1). The loss ended Lehigh's nine-game winning streak.
No. 10 Duke 11, Marist 10: David Lawson's game-winning goal with 4:38 left in the game capped a 4-1 fourth-quarter rally and lifted the host Blue Devils (10-3) over the Red Foxes (5-4) at Koskinen Stadium. Jack Doherty had a game-high five goals for Marist.
St. John's 13, No. 20 Georgetown 12, OT: Ryan Fitzgerald scored the game-winner with 3:27 left in overtime as the Red Storm (6-4, 2-2 Big East) upset the host Hoyas (5-5, 1-2). St. John's scored twice in the final 21 seconds to force overtime.
No. 3 Syracuse 15, Rutgers 10: Alyssa Murray scored five of her six goals in the second half as the host Orange (8-2, 3-0 Big East) extended its winning streak to seven games.
No. 6 Dartmouth 12, No. 17 Cornell 10: The visiting Big Green (8-1, 4-0 Ivy League) put together two 4-0 runs to beat the Big Red (7-3, 3-2).
No. 6 Notre Dame 18, Villanova 5: The host Fighting Irish (9-2, 3-2 Big East) outscored the Wildcats (2-9, 0-3) 11-1 in the second half, including a 7-0 run to close the game. Lindsay Powell had five goals for Notre Dame.
No. 8 Duke 12, Boston College 11: The Blue Devils (9-5) scored three goals over the final four minutes in a come-from-behind victory over the visiting Eagles (6-7). .
