Brandon Burke, Colgate
Potomac, sophomore, goalkeeper
The Raiders opened the 2015 season with the kind of start any program would hope for, stunning No. 14 Bryant, 9-5, at the Bryant Turf Complex in Smithfield, R.I., and Burke played a critical role. The 5-foot-8, 180-pound goalie turned away 11 shots and surrendered just one goal in the first, second and fourth quarters. Burke's play allowed Colgate to go on a 4-1 run in the final period that put the game out of reach for the Bulldogs. Burke, who made double-digit saves in eight of the 16 games he started last year, ranked 13th in Division I in goals-against average (8.81) and 29th in save percentage (.524). He was the Patriot League Rookie of the Year last season.
