Maryland women, both Loyola Wednesday lacrosse games postponed

Loyola Maryland’s men’s and women’s lacrosse games at Georgetown Wednesday have been postponed, because of the forecast for snow lasting Tuesday through Wednesday evening and possibly accumulating four to eight inches.

Also, the Maryland women’s game at Penn scheduled for Wednesday night has been postponed until Thursday, because the snow forecast includes Philadelphia.

The No. 4 Terps (6-1) will face the No. 7 Quakers (7-0) at Franklin Field at 3 p.m. This will be the first of two Maryland games against undefeated teams. The Terps host No. 3 James Madison (8-0) at noon Saturday.

The Loyola women’s game has been rescheduled for April 25 at 3 p.m. and the men’s game moved to April 10 at 3 p.m., with both at Cooper Field on the Georgetown campus.

The No. 8 Greyhounds women have won five straight games, including three over top-20 programs as they’ve steadily risen in the Inside Lacrosse media poll over the past three weeks.

They will next head to Lehigh for a Patriot League game Saturday at noon. The Greyhounds are 1-0 in the Patriot League after defeating Army West Point, 15-3, on Saturday.

The No. 6 Loyola men are 5-2 and next play Saturday at home against Bucknell.
