Roundup: No. 19 Hofstra advances to CAA final with 8-6 victory

No. 19 Hofstra (11-4) used a late rally to get past visiting Delaware (7-9) in the Colonial Athletic Association semifinals, 8-6.

The Blue Hens led 4-2 at halftime, but the Pride allowed just two more goals the rest of the way.


Ryan Rielly got Hofstra started in the second half, scoring his second goal of the game.

Then, after a Blue Hens goal made the score 5-3 in Delaware's favor, the Pride got goals from four players for a 7-5 lead.


Washington College 20, Gettysburg 7: Sid Looney scored seven goals as the host Shoremen (14-1) routed the Bullets (9-7) in the Centennial Conference semifinals.

The Shoremen will host Franklin & Marshall on Saturday in the conference championship game.

Goucher 8, Scranton 4: Pierce Ingram led the Gophers (7-7) with three goals as they defeated the host Royals (10-7) in the Landmark Conference semifinals.

Goucher moves on to play Susquehanna in the conference final Saturday.

Towson at No. 14 Drexel, ppd.: The CAA semifinal will be made up today at noon in Philadelphia.


Muhlenberg at McDaniel, ppd.: The Centennial Conference first-round game will be made up at 7 tonight in Westminster.

Lebanon Valley at Stevenson, ppd.: The Commonwealth Conference semifinal will be made up today at 4 p.m. in Owings Mills.
