Lacrosse roundup (April 22): No. 5 Yale men top No. 2 Albany, 14-6

Ben Reeves, Lucas Cotler and Matt Gaudet each scored three goals to lift the host No. 5 Yale men's lacrosse team to a 14-6 win over No. 2 Albany on Sunday.

The Bulldogs' Conor Mackie went 13-for-21 on faceoffs against TD Ierlan, who entered Sunday as the nation's leader in faceoff percentage (.844). John Daniggelis added a pair of goals for Yale (11-2), which won its fourth straight game.


Sean Eccles scored three goals for the Great Danes (11-2).

No. 10 Rutgers 11, No. 11 Penn State 8: Kieran Mullins and Christian Mazzone each scored three goals to help the host Scarlet Knights (9-4, 2-2 Big Ten) secure a victory over the Nittany Lions (8-5, 2-2).


State women

Mount St. Mary's 18, LIU Brooklyn 10: Alayna Pagnotta (Glenelg) and Emily Davis each had three goals to lift the visiting Mountaineers (8-6, 3-2 NEC) over the Blackbirds (3-11, 0-5).

Nation women

No. 4 James Madison 15, Hofstra 10: Elena Romesburg tied her career high with five goals to lead the host Dukes (15-1, 5-0 Colonial Athletic Association) over the Pride (8-8, 2-4).

No. 19 Syracuse 19, Louisville 8: The host Orange (9-8, 1-6 Atlantic Coast Conference) broke a tie at 8 with 11 straight goals to defeat the Cardinals (6-10, 0-7). Syracuse secured the No. 6 seed in next week's ACC tournament and will take on North Carolina in the quarterfinals.
