College lacrosse roundup: Kavanaugh, No. 5 Notre Dame top Ohio State, 13-7

Matt Kavanaugh tied a single-game school record with seven goals to power No. 5 Notre Dame past host Ohio State, 13-7, on Tuesday in men's lacrosse.
The game was delayed a half-hour because of snow. The Fighting Irish (4-2) fell behind 1-0 to the Buckeyes (2-6) after one quarter, then scored five straight goals. Notre Dame took a 7-5 lead into the fourth quarter, then outscored Ohio State 6-2.
No. 11 Bryant 7, Providence 6: Austin Goltz scored twice in the fourth quarter, the last with 51 seconds left, to bring the host Friars (3-6) within one, but they fell to the Bulldogs (7-2).
Bryant, led by Colin Dunster with two goals and an assist, has won five straight.
Canisius 14, No. 12 Albany 10: Miles Thompson had a game-high seven goals, but the host Great Danes (3-4) fell to the Golden Griffins (4-4).
Danielle Entrot (Centennial) had three goals and two assists for McDaniel.
Washington College 8, St. Mary's 7: The visiting Shorewomen (4-2) led by Carly Eisenbrandt (Towson) with three goals, scored the final four goals of the game to beat the Seahawks (4-5).
Tori Poffenberger had a game-high four goals for St. Mary's.
No. 8 Northwestern 10, No. 10 Massachusetts 6: Kelly Rich had a career-high four goals and four assists for the visiting Wildcats (5-3), and the loss marks the end of a 31-game home winning streak by the Minutewomen (9-1).
No. 14 Loyola (6-4) at No. 15 Georgetown (3-4) will play today at 6 p.m. Hood (4-2) at Elizabethtown (0-6) was moved to Thursday at 4 p.m. And Rosemont (2-3, 0-1 Colonial States Athletic Conference) at Notre Dame Maryland (0-4, 0-2) was postponed, but had not been rescheduled.
