No. 10 Johns Hopkins 17, Saint Joseph's (Pa.) 11: Maggie Schneidereith ( Towson ) scored a game-high six goals to lead the host Blue Jays (5-1) over the Hawks (2-3). Ellie McNulty (Broadneck) scored four goals and Mackenzie Heldberg had a hat trick for Hopkins, which opened with a 7-0 run. The Blue Jays travel to Hofstra pm Saturday at 3 p.m.
No. 11 Loyola Maryland 12, Towson 6: Livy Rosenzweig scored a game-high four goals to lead the visiting Greyhounds (3-2) over the Tigers (0-5). Rosenzweig scored the first two goals of the game during a 3-0 run and Loyola never trailed. Kaitlin Thornton scored twice for Towson.
UMBC at Bucknell, ppd.: The game between the visiting Retrievers (2-3) and Bison (1-4) was postponed because of expected low temperatures. UMBC has lost three in a row.
National women
No. 5 Virginia 20, George Mason 9: Avery Shoemaker scored a game-high six goals to lead the host Cavaliers (6-1) past the Patriots (3-3). Virginia used a 5-0 run in the first half to build a 12-6 lead. The Cavaliers travel to No. 3 North Carolina on Saturday at noon.
No. 7 James Madison 11, No. 19 Penn State 9: Halle Duenkel started a 7-0 run to carry the visiting Dukes (5-1) past the Nittany Lions (3-3). Penn State led 6-4 with 10 minutes left in the first half before the run. Duenkel and Maddie McDaniel (Severn) both finished with hat tricks for James Madison.
