Digest (June 12): Major League Lacrosse announces roster for game vs. Team USA

For the first time in four years, the Major League Lacrosse All-Stars will face off against Team USA. MLL announced the 30 players who will represent the league on June 28 at 7 p.m. at Harvard Stadium. The last time these teams met, Rob Pannell broke a 9-9 tie with seven seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, leading Team USA to a 10-9 win. Joe Walters (Maryland) led all scorers in the game with three goals for the MLL All-Stars. Walters was selected to his ninth career All-Star Game , the most among current MLL All-Stars. Kyle Harrison (Johns Hopkins) and Brian Karalunas from the Ohio Machine are each playing in their seventh All-Star Game. Both played for Team USA in 2014. Maryland teams qualifyfor Presidents Cup events

Twenty-one teams will advance to the 2018 US Youth Soccer Eastern Presidents Cup from Friday to Monday in Barboursville, W.Va., after competing in the Maryland Presidents Cup Championships. Wizards to open summerleague play against Cavs

The Washington Wizards will play in three preliminary round games in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas on July 6-9 before being seeded in a tournament running through the championship game on July 17. Washington will play its first game July 6 at 9 p.m. vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers . The Wizards' next two games are scheduled for July 8 at 3:30 p.m. vs. the San Antonio Spurs and July 9 at 5:30 p.m. vs. the Philadelphia 76ers. Washington's first game will take place at Cox Pavilion while their next two matchups will take place at Thomas and Mack Center. The NBA Summer League will run 12 days and consist of 82 games as part of the usual tournament-style schedule. Each team will play at least five games and as many as eight.
