D-I women's lacrosse: For the second straight week, senior Megan Taylor (Glenelg) was named the IWLCA National Player of the Week. Taylor posted 21 saves to only nine goals allowed, a .700 save percentage, in wins over Ohio State and Penn State. ... Alayna Pagnotta (Glenelg) had four goals and an assist and Beanie Colson (Manchester Valley) had three goals to lead host Mount St. Mary's (6-2) to a 17-6 rout over Longwood (2-7). The Mount is off to its best start through eight games in program history. Mount St. Mary's travels to Campbell at noon on Saturday. ... No. 8 Notre Dame stayed perfect improving to 9-0 with a 18-6 victory over visitng Vanderbilt (7-2). The game featured four ties, but the Tigers were held scoreless over the final 11 minutes. ... Women's bowling: Maryland Eastern Shore picked up honors from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference as junior Cayla Hicks was voted Bowler of the Year, while classmate Brigitte Jacobs earned First-Team All-MEAC and coach Kayla Bandy was named Coach of the Year.
