College lacrosse roundup: No. 1 Terps women upset by No. 17 Ohio State in Big Ten semifinal

Zoe Stukenberg (Marriotts Ridge) scored with eight seconds left to bring the No. 1 Maryland women's lacrosse team within one of No. 17 Ohio State, but the Buckeyes (13-6) held on to upset the Terps, 11-10, in a Big Ten semifinal at Rutgers. Brooke Griffin (South River) had four goals for Maryland (17-1).

The Terps opened with a 4-0 run before Katie Chase (Glenelg) started a 4-0 run for Ohio State. Maryland led 6-4 at the break before the Buckeyes rallied in the second half and broke an 8-all tie with a 3-0 run.

Towson 7, Hofstra 3, OT: Andi Raymond tied the game with 4:40 left in regulation and scored twice during a 4-0 overtime run to lift the Tigers (9-8) over the Pride (11-6) in a Colonial Athletic Association semifinal at Delaware.

Kelsea Donnelly (South River) made eight saves for Towson, which advances to face No. 19 James Madison in Sunday's championship at 1 p.m.

No. 5 Stony Brook 16, UMBC 5: Courtney Murphy set an America East tournament single-game record with seven goals as the host Seawolves (17-1) beat the Retrievers (8-9) in the semifinals.

Wagner 15, Mount St. Mary's 6: Erin Seipp (Notre Dame Prep) had a goal and an assist, but the Mount (6-11) fell to the Seahawks (9-9) in a Northeast Conference semifinal at Bryant.

No. 11 Yale 10, No. 9 Brown 6: The Bulldogs (10-4) finished on a 6-0 run to beat the Bears (12-4) and will seek their third Ivy League tournament title.

No. 15 Princeton 11, No. 10 Cornell 7: The Tigers (9-5) scored three unanswered goals in the third quarter and held the Big Red (10-5) scoreless for 31:01 to win an Ivy League semifinal at Brown. Mike MacDonald had four goals for Princeton.

No. 7 Penn State 13, No. 9 Northwestern 10: The Nittany Lions (13-4) were led by a trio of goal scorers, Tatum Coffey, Steph Lazo (St. Mary's) and Madison Cyr (Winters Mill), and beat the Wildcats (12-6) in a Big Ten semifinal at Rutgers.

No. 10 Stanford 16, Colorado 5: Kelly Myers had six goals to power the Cardinal (14-2) past the Buffaloes (11-7) in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation semifinal in Denver.

No. 12 Princeton 15, Harvard 8: Olivia Hompe scored six goals to lead the host Tigers (13-3) past the Crimson (8-8) in an Ivy League semifinal.

No. 13 Penn 7, Cornell 6: Catherine Dickinson had three goals and the Quakers (13-3) won back-to-back victories over the Big Red (9-7) to advance to the Ivy League championship.

Penn beat Cornell, 10-9, in the regular-season finale on April 26.

No. 18 Albany 14, Vermont 13, OT: Rachel Bowles scored the game-winner with 39 seconds left in overtime as the Great Danes (14-3) beat the Catamounts (11-7) in an America East semifinal at Stony Brook.
