Lacrosse roundup (March 23): Hopkins women fall in 2OT to Stanford


Lucy Dikeou scored the game-winner with 3:59 left in the second overtime as the No. 8 Stanford women's lacrosse team beat No. 18 host Johns Hopkins, 10-9, on Wednesday.

The Blue Jays (7-4) led 3-1 with 18:53 left in the first half before the Cardinal (6-1) answered with a 4-0 run.


Emily Kenul scored the tying goal with 1:25 left to force overtime.

No. 1 Maryland 12, No. 14 Penn 8: McDonogh alumnae Taylor Cummings and Megan Whittle each scored four goals to lead the Terps (7-0) past the host Quakers (6-2).

Maryland used an 8-0 run that spanned both halves to pull away. Cummings added 10 draws to her totals.


No. 7 Southern California 17, Dartmouth 4: Michaela Michael and Caroline deLyra each scored four goals to lead the host Trojans (8-0) past the Big Green (4-3).

No. 16 Virginia 10, James Madison 9: Kasey Behr scored the game-winner with 3:04 left as the host Cavaliers (5-5) beat the Dukes (4-6).

No. 19 Massachusetts 13, Albany 7: The host Minutewomen (7-1) used a 5-2 run in the second half to pick up their third straight win.

UMass was led by a trio of three-goal scorers: Erika Eipp, Hannah Murphy and Hannah Burnett. Rachel Bowles had a hat trick for the Great Danes ( 3-3).
