Women's lacrosse Player of the Week (April 2): Rachel Vander Kolk, Virginia

Severna Park, freshman, goalie

Vander Kolk, who has played every minute this season, made 18 saves, including 11 in the second half, to help Virginia upset then-No. 2 and previously-undefeated Boston College, 15-13, this past Saturday. She had three saves and a ground ball in the final three minutes to preserve the victory — the No. 5 Cavaliers' second over at Top 5 team in three games. The Severna Park graduate, who helped the Falcons win three state lacrosse titles, also made nine saves in a 16-9 win at William & Mary last week.
