Men's lacrosse Player of the Week (March 26): Shane Doss, Notre Dame

Notre Dame goalkeeper Shane Doss is the men's lacrosse Player of the Week. (Baltimore Sun)

Glen Ridge, N.J., sophomore, goalkeeper

A performance like the one Doss registered on Saturday may keep him between the pipes for a while. The 5-foot-10, 165-pound Doss, who has started all but one game, turned aside all 11 shots he faced and helped squash four man-down situations to propel the No. 2 Fighting Irish to a 9-0 shutout of No. 15 Ohio State. It was the program's first shutout since April 10, 1984, when that squad blanked Mount Union, 15-0. Doss, who has made 10 or more saves in four starts, is one of just three Division I goalies to rank in the top four in goals-against average (fourth at 6.95) and save percentage (fifth at .611).
