Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week (April 16): Kevin Massa, Bryant

Huntington, N.Y., senior faceoff specialist

With his 10th draw to open the fourth quarter of the Bulldogs’ 10-8 victory over Northeast Conference foe Robert Morris on Saturday, the 5-foot-10, 205-pound Massa passed Delaware’s Alex Smith’s NCAA record of 1,027 faceoff wins. Massa, who went 14 of 21 in Bryant’s 10-8 loss against No. 8 Albany on Tuesday and now has 1,046 faceoff wins, owns NCAA marks for ground balls in a season and career, ground balls per game in a year, single-game faceoff winning percentage and career faceoff attempts. Massa, who is on pace to eclipse the NCAA record for career ground balls per game, was named the Northeast Conference Player of the Week.
