Men's lacrosse Player of the Week (March 5): Zach Currier, Princeton

Princeton midfielder Zach Currier is the Player of the Week. (Princeton University, Baltimore Sun)

Peterborough, Ontario, sophomore, midfielder

In the No. 10 Tigers' 16-15 overtime win at then-No. 12 Johns Hopkins on Saturday, Currier resurrected memories of two-way midfielders who did it all for their teams. On offense, the 6-foot, 180-pound Currier had two goals and three assists. On defense, he filled his role as a short-stick defensive midfielder and caused a turnover. On faceoffs, Currier won six of eight draws, including the one to open overtime. Overall, he collected a game-high eight ground balls. For his efforts, Currier, who ranks second on the team in assists (five) and is tied for second in points (12), was also named the Ivy League Player of the Week.
