The top-ranked Fighting Irish rallied for an 8-6 win against No. 16 Duke on Sunday thanks to a pivotal defensive display from Sexton. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound long-pole midfielder limited Blue Devils senior midfielder Myles Jones to zero goals on six shots and one assist. Just nine days before, Jones had tied a program record with 11 points in a 17-16 overtime loss to No. 11 North Carolina. Sexton shared Atlantic Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors with North Carolina redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Brian Balkam.
