Mollie Stevens scored the winner on an assist from Sammi Burgess (McDonogh) with 4:54 left in overtime as the visiting No. 3 Florida (5-0) won 11-10 over No. 2 Syracuse (5-1).

Stevens gave Florida a 10-9 lead with 4:11 left in the game before Syracuse's Halle Majorana, a Maryland transfer, tied the score with 2:46 left to force overtime.


Burgess scored twice in the first half; her second goal gave the Gators a 6-4 lead with 1:40 left in the half. Syracuse used a 3-0 run in the second half to take a 9-7 lead with 15:45 left in the game.

Mary-Sean Wilcox (Notre Dame Prep) made nine saves for the Gators.

The victory was the Gators' second this season over a No. 2-ranked team. Florida, then No. 8, beat then-No. 2 North Carolina, 16-15, on Feb. 20.

Nation men

No. 9 Hofstra 19, New Jersey Institute of Technology 4: Sam Llinares scored a game-high five goals to power the host Pride (3-0) past the Highlanders (0-5).

No. 19 Rutgers 15, Wagner 7: The Scarlet Knights (4-0) used a 7-0 run in the second quarter to pull away from the host Seahawks (1-3).

The loss was Wagner's third straight.

Rutgers was led by Jules Heningburg (four goals, one assist), Adam Charalambides (two goals, three assists) and Scott Bieda (three goals, one assist).
