Ohio State received 34 first-place votes to win the Big Ten East, followed by defending champ Penn State (seven). Wisconsin (31 first-place votes) is favored to defend its West title.
In voting for offensive player of the year, Barkley, who won in 2016, is the clear favorite to repeat. The running back from Whitehall High received 30 of the 38 first-place votes. Penn State quarterback Trace McSorley received two first-place votes.
