What's at stake: "0-1 is not a place we want to be," coach Rob Ambrose said, and the Tigers should even their record against St. Francis (Pa.), a team to which it has never lost. Last year, Towson won, 35-20, but the Red Flash has made strides. It fell, 41-31 in its opener to No. 13 Montana after leading in the third quarter. This one could be a shootout, as the teams surrendered a combined 964 yards last Saturday. The Tigers lost, 56-20, to South Florida as Darius Victor ran for two scores, just as he did against St. Francis last year.

Key matchup: Can Towson's special teams harness Lorenzo Jerome, the explosive Red Flash return man who returned four kickoffs for 196 yards last week? Jerome also intercepted two passes, a stat not lost on Towson quarterback Morgan Mahalak, the Oregon transfer who'll play his first game before the home crowd.

Player to watch: Towson punter Jake Ryder averaged 49.4 yards on seven kicks, including a 68-yarder, against South Florida. He also dropped three punts inside the 20-yard line, one placed so accurately that Ambrose swore he must have thrown it there.
