State: Bowie State edged by Virginia State in triple overtime, 47-44

Keith Brown ran for a career-high 175 yards but visiting Bowie State fell to Virginia State, 47-44, in triple overtime.

The Trojans (6-1) kicked a field goal as time expired to force overtime and won on a 24-yard touchdown pass to Gene Holloman in the third overtime after the Bulldogs could secure only a field goal.

Bowie State (2-5) took a 20-10 lead after Kendall Jefferson's 19-yard touchdown run less than a minute into the second half, but Virginia State answered with two touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Garry Cropperthen caught a screen pass and scored from 24 yards out for the Bulldogs before the Trojans forced overtime.

Brown scored in the first overtime, but Virginia State answered with a 9-yard touchdown run on fourth-and-5. Both teams scored a touchdown in the second overtime, and the Trojans secured the victory with Holloman's touchdown catch.

King's College 31, Stevenson 24: The Mustangs led 24-14 after Tre'von Wilks returned an interception 56 yards for a score just after halftime, but the Monarchs scored the final 17 points on the road to beat Stevenson.

King's College (Pa.) took a 14-0 lead in less than a minute after Jay Thomas caught a 1-yard touchdown pass and Ron Garrett recovered a fumble and returned it 20 yards for a score. The Mustangs answered with a 14-yard touchdown catch by Chris Cooper and a 5-yard rushing touchdown by Marcus Holley. An 18-yard field goal by Charlie Cornell gave Stevenson a 17-14 lead at halftime.

After Wilks' interception, the Monarchs answered with a 17-yard rushing touchdown by Patrick Robinson and a 6-yard touchdown catch by Dan Kempa.

Salisbury 42, St. John Fisher 35: Quarterback Joey Jones ran 28 times for 78 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Sea Gulls to victory over the visiting Cardinals.

Salisbury (4-2) ran for 451 yards. Brandon Norwood's only run, an 82-yard score early in the fourth quarter, gave the Sea Gulls a 35-21 lead. St. John Fisher(5-1) scored with 3:50 remaining to cut the deficit to 7, but Jones led a 44-yard drive in 2:17 and capped it with a 15-yard touchdown run to seal Salisbury's victory.

Sea Gulls running backs Desmond Sivels and Lonnie Liggins combined to run 13 times for 151 yards and a score.

Franklin & Marshall 28, McDaniel 9: Diplomats quarterback E.J. Schneider went 15-for-24 for 172 yards and two touchdown passes and had 13 carries for 151 yards and two more scores to beat the Green Terror on the road.

McDaniel (1-5) started the scoring by securing a safety, but a 2-yard touchdown run by Schneider and a 12-yard touchdown catch by Jordan Zackery gave Franklin & Marshall (4-2) a 14-2 lead midway through the second quarter.

Buffalo State 60, Frostburg State 28: The visiting Bobcats (1-5) turned the ball over four times and allowed 505 offensive yards in their loss to the Bengals.

Buffalo State quarterback Casey Kacz went 21-for-30 for 203 yards and five touchdown passes. Rich Pete and Trey Jones combined for 19 carries for 165 yards and a score.

Frostburg State's Antonio Wood caught six passes for 133 yards and two touchdowns, and Hayden Roberts had six catches for 103 yards.
