State college football roundup (Oct. 14): Southern grad Malique Pratt carries Salisbury to win

Malique Pratt (Southern) led the way with three rushing touchdowns as visiting Salisbury won 28-10 over host Montclair State in football Saturday.

Pratt had rushing touchdowns of 1, 2 and 3 yards and he finished with 14 attempts for 90 yards. The Sea Gulls scored seven points in each quarter and totaled 390 rushing yards.

The win marked the fifth straight for Salisbury, which improved to 5-1, 5-0 New Jersey Athletic Conference. The Red Hawks fell to 3-3, 3-2.

Frostburg State 59, William Paterson 7: Connor Cox (South River) threw two touchdown passes to Sergio Andino (Northeast) during a 45-0 run by the visiting Bobcats (5-1, 4-1 New Jersey Athletic Conference). Cox went 17-of-19 for 294 yards and four touchdown passes. Andino made six catches for 138 yards.

Aqeel Daniels-Lundy completed a 52-yard pass to Tyler Vivian with 6:25 left in the third quarter for the only score by the Pioneers (0-6, 0-5).

Lebanon Valley 31, Stevenson 24: The host Flying Dutchmen (3-3, 3-2 Middle Atlantic Conference) went on a 21-0 run in the second quarter and held off a late rally by the Mustangs (3-3, 3-2).

Stevenson's final drive ended in an interception with a minute to go.

Virginia State 47, Bowie State 35: The host Trojans (6-0, 4-0 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association) scored 20 points in the first and fourth quarters and beat the Bulldogs (6-1, 3-1).
