No. 13 Salisbury lost, 34-14, to two-time defending champion and No. 1 Wisconsin-Whitewater in the NCAA Division III quarterfinal on Saturday, ending the Sea Gulls' deepest playoff run in 25 years.
Running back Levell Coppage had nine carries for 213 yards and four touchdowns to help the host Warhawks (13-0) extend the longest current winning streak at all levels of college football to 43 games.
The Sea Gulls (11-2) got 60 rushing yards on seven carries from senior Tyler Curley; classmate Jonathan Briscoe ran for 49 yards on 11 rushes and junior Dan Griffin was held to 39 yards on 15 chances. Junior Chris Everett had a game-high nine tackles for Salisbury.
