Morgan State gets chance to knock off unbeaten North Carolina A&T on Saturday

North Carolina A&T (3-0) @ Morgan State (0-3)

When: Saturday, 7 p.m.

Site: Hughes Stadium

Radio: 88.9 FM

Series: Morgan State leads, 47-35-3

What’s at stake: Pride. In three games, Morgan State has been outscored 101-0. The Bears have never been blanked four straight times, but that could happen against undefeated NC A&T, which already has a 56-0 shutout to its credit this season. Moreover, in their last meeting in 2014, the Aggies won, 45-0.

Key matchup: Morgan State’s offensive line, overwhelmed to date, will be hard pressed to stop Justin Cates, the Aggies’ 275-pound tackle who, last week, had three sacks and four tackles for losses in a 35-31 win over Charlotte.

Player to watch: Franklin McCain III, an NC A&T defensive back who has 23 tackles and two interceptions, one of which he returned 74 yards last week for the winning touchdown. McCain is the grandson of Franklin McCain, one of the “Greensboro Four” who, in 1960, held a celebrated sit-in at a Woolworth’s lunch counter to protest segregation there.
