Series: Morgan State leads 1-0

What's at stake: The Bears travel to Robert Morris for their second of four consecutive non-conference road games to start the 2013 season. Morgan State dropped a 28-12 decision to Army last week, while Robert Morris was a 38-6 loser at Eastern Kentucky. Morgan is still experimenting with its quarterback rotation. Junior Seth Higgins (Edgewood) started the game against Army and went 2-for-3 for 27 yards, while junior Robert Council entered in the second quarter and was 4-for-7 for 89 yards.

Key matchup: Morgan State junior linebacker Cody Acker made 10 tackles — the first double-digit outing of his career — and contributed a sack last week. Acker will lead a Bears defense tasked with stopping Robert Morris quarterback Paul Jones, a Penn State transfer who was ranked the No. 2 pro-style QB in the country by Scout.com in 2010. Jones went 16-for-28 for 177 yards in last week's loss to Eastern Kentucky.

Player to watch: Lamont Brown III rushed for 75 yards on 19 carries last week in the Bears' loss to Army. Brown, a Suffolk, Va., native, is a redshirt freshman tasked with replacing Travis Davidson, an All-MEAC selection who rushed for 1,023 yards and 12 touchdowns last season. Brown will be going up against a Robert Morris defense that allowed 38 points in a season-opening loss to Eastern Kentucky last week.
