Digest (Aug. 31): Towson-Morgan State football game featured on MeTV

WBAL-TV is partnering with Morgan State to televise the school's regular-season home football games on MeTV Baltimore, the company's digital channel. All five home games at Hughes Memorial Stadium can be seen on MeTV Baltimore beginning tonight when the Bears host Towson at 7 p.m. in "The Battle of Greater Baltimore." MeTV Baltimore can be found over-the-air on 11.2, Comcast channel 208 and Verizon FiOS channel 460. In addition to the season opener, the MeTV programming schedule includes: Oct. 6 vs. South Carolina State, 1 p.m.; Oct. 20 vs. Howard, 7 p.m.; Nov. 3 vs. Bethune-Cookman , 4 p.m.; Nov. 10, Delaware State, 1 p.m.

Dream slip past Mysticsto take 2-1 lead in series

Tiffany Hayes had 23 points and 11 rebounds and the Atlanta Dream beat the Washington Mystics 81-76 on Friday night to take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five WNBA semifinal series. Washington played without injured All-Star Elena Delle Donne. Game 4 is Sunday at 3 p.m. in Washington.


Women's Pro Soccer: Loyola Maryland assistant women's soccer coach Morgan Ruhl (McDonogh, LSU) has signed a professional contract and will suit up for the Washington Spirit of the National Women's Soccer League for its season finale tonight against Sky Blue FCA.

Men's college basketball: Morgan State and Towson will play their Dec. 8 matchup at Royal Farms Arena. The game, originally scheduled to be contested at Hill Field House, will be followed by Maryland and Final Four participant Loyola Chicago.

Men's college soccer: Despite sophomore Chase Vosvick saving a second-half penalty kick, Villanova scored off a counter attack in the 97th minute to lead the Wildcats to a 1-0 win over visiting Loyola Maryland. ... Maryland and No. 10 Stanford played 110 minutes of scoreless soccer in front of 5,802 fans at Ludwig Field on Friday night.

Women's college volleyball: Loyola Maryland had a school record 12 blocks in a 25-23, 25-21, 25-11 victory over Binghamton in the Maverick Classic.

minor league Baseball: The Bowie Baysox willl host a fan appreciation day Sunday at noon as part of the team's season-ending series at Prince George's Stadium.
