AP ranking: No. 2 Record: 4-0, 1-0 Result: Defeated Rutgers, 58-0 Last week: No. 1 Up next: vs. Indiana (3-1, 1-0) You might not see a more lopsided box score this season than the one from the Buckeyes’ thrashing of the Scarlet Knights. Ohio State outgained Rutgers 669-116, had 32 first downs to Rutgers’ 9, ran 84 plays to Rutgers’ 54 and averaged 7.5 yards on those plays compared to 2.1 for the Scarlet Knights. The Buckeyes never allowed Rutgers to cross the Ohio State 38-yard line, allowing just 33 passing yards and forcing Rutgers to punt on each of its 10 drives that didn't end a half. The icing on the cake was J.T. Barrett’s performance, as the junior quarterback threw four touchdown passes to give him 59 in 27 career games for Ohio State, a school record.
