College lacrosse players of the week

MEN

Jordan Wolf, Duke

Freshman, Wynnewood, Pa., attackman

Wolf recorded five goals and four assists in two games last week and currently ranks second on the Blue Devils in goals (12) and points (18). He scored four goals on five shots in then-No. 7 Duke's 14-9 victory over then-No. 9 North Carolina on Thursday night. Three days later, Wolf posted one goal and four assists in an 18-10 rout of Dartmouth. The four assists and five points established career highs for Wolf, who was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week. Since Wolf became a starting attackman after the team's 7-3 loss to then-unranked Penn on Feb. 26, the Blue Devils have won four consecutive games, including victories over ranked opponents in Maryland, Loyola and North Carolina.

WOMEN

Ashley Bruns, Florida

Sophomore, Ellicott City, Md., attack

The Mount Hebron graduate scored six goals on seven shots in the No. 8 Gators' 16-11 victory over then-No. 14 Syracuse Saturday. Six goals tied the single-game school record Bruns had shared with teammate Kitty Cullen (McDonogh). She also had three goals in an 18-6 win over Colgate and went 3-for-3 on free-position shots for the week. Bruns ranks second on the team in scoring with 26 goals and 12 assists for the Gators, who are in just their second season.
